What we believe
The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct, Deuteronomy 4:2, Acts 1:16, Psalms 19:7, Deuteronomy 12:32, Proverbs 30:6, Revelation 22:19, 2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16 & 17.
The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption, Matthew 28:19, John 14:26, John 15:26, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2.
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayers, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ, John 4:24, Revelation 1:8, Romans 1:19, Isaiah 6:3, Job 28:20-23, 1 John 4:7 & 8, Psalm 8:4, 1 John 5:14 & 15, Philippians 2:8, Romans 6:23, John 6:37, John 14:6.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, not created, but eternally existing with the Father and the Holy Spirit, His incarnation into human flesh, conceived by the Holy Spirit to a virgin birth, His sinless life, miracles and teaching. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and His future personal visible return to establish His kingdom on earth, John 3:16, Matthew 1:18, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 6:23, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, Acts 1:9, Romans 8:34, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide, John 16:7-15, John 14:26, Romans 8:26 Isaiah 11:2, Romans 15:13, Acts 1:8, John 6:63, 1 Corinthians 2:13.
Regeneration
We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, John 3:18, Titus 3:5 , Ezekiel 36:26-27, 2 Corinthians 5:17, John 3:6-8, 1 Corinthians 6:11, Ephesians 1:13.
The Church
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible confession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world, Romans 12:4 & 5, 1 Corinthians 12:5-31, Ephesians 5:23, Galatians 3:26-28.
Christian Conduct
We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his or her fellow men; that Christian conduct should be blameless before the world; that we should be faithful stewards of our possessions; and that we should seek to realize for ourselves and others the full stature of maturity in Christ, John 15:1-13, 1 Corinthians 5:12 & 13, Colossians 3, 4:1-6, Ephesians 4:12 & 13.
Christian Marriage
We believe that Christian marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God for the happiness of mankind and the propagation of humanity. It is the spiritual and physical union of one man and one woman; this is the only legitimate sexual relationship, according to the scriptures. Accordingly, a church, its pastors, staff, and members, should not recognize any other union as a legitimate marriage; the church and staff should not perform or participate in any same sex marriage or union or ceremonies of any kind; and church facilities should not be used for such purposes, Genesis 2:24, Leviticus 18:22, 20:13, Matthew 22:30, Romans 1:21-28, 1 Corinthians 6:9 & 10, Ephesians 5:11, Hebrews 13:4.
The Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that the preferred expression of Christian Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the name of the triune God.We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Acts 2:41, Acts 8:12, 36-38, Acts 16:33, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12, 1 Peter 3:20-21, Luke 22:19 & 20, Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians 10:16 & 17, 1 Corinthians 11:23-28.
Religious Liberty
We believe that every human being has direct relations with God, and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith, Jeremiah 31:29-34, Ezekiel 18:2-4, 20, John 3:16-18, John 3:35 & 36, John 12:47 & 48, Romans 3:21-27, Romans 14:11-12, 2 Corinthians 5:10.
Church Cooperation
We believe that local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another. Cooperation in a conference is voluntary and may be terminated at any time. Churches may likewise cooperate with interdenominational fellowships on a voluntary basis, 2 Corinthians 8 & 9.
The Last Things
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal joy of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked, Matthew 24:30, Matthew 25:31-32, Acts 1:11, 1 Corinthians 15:50-55, Acts 24:15, Matthew 25:46, Revelation 20:4, 10-15, Hebrews 9:27, 1 Peter 2:9,10, Revelation 22:3-5.
Satan
We believe that Satan is a real created being and the originator of sin. He is called the prince of the power of the air and the chief adversary of God. Satan and his demons oppose God, and incite men to sin. Christ defeated Satan on the cross, and eventually both Satan and his angels (demons) will be cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity, Genesis 3:1-4, Job 1:7, Ezekiel 28:13-19, Luke 22:3, John 8:44, 1 Corinthians 7:5, 2 Corinthians 4:4, 11:14, Ephesians 2:2, 2 Thessalonians 2:9 & 10, Revelation 12:9, 20:2.
